Renewal Policies

Deferrals

If you are an active renewal candidate in your first year of eligibility and find you are unable to complete the Profile of Professional Growth by the deadline, you might be eligible to defer submission for one year. To qualify for deferral, your account must be fully paid. If eligible, you can submit the deferral yourself in My Profile. When you defer your current application, a new application is automatically created for the next assessment cycle and a fee of $125 is assessed to that application. Once you defer, you are no longer eligible to receive a partial refund.

Withdrawing

If deferral is not an option and you are unable to complete the process, you can log in to My Profile and withdraw your application. If you choose to withdraw during your second opportunity to renew, then you must start the certification process anew to obtain an active certification.

Refunds

If you withdraw by the established deadline to receive a refund, then you or any third-party payer may be eligible for a refund minus the nonrefundable initial fee and any service charges.  If you have deferred, you are not eligible to receive a partial refund.
